STEM Tutoring and Test Prep

I offer tutoring in all math topics, from prealgebra to advanced calculus and statistics; physics and chemistry; English, French, and Spanish grammar; test prep and more. I believe that individual attention and friendly patience can help most students unlock their understanding of even the most complex subjects.

I was on faculty for a combined fifteen years at Lincoln School and St. George’s School before choosing to leave to refocus my time on music performance and individualized work with students/tutees. I continue to substitute teach at Wheeler School, especially in the Upper School Math Department. Through these experiences I gained a feel for helping a classroom full of students connect with math at all secondary levels from sixth through twelfth grade; I began tutoring during this time and learned how to focus this connection in support of one student’s learning at a time. My skills developed in particular over ten years teaching advanced calculus and seven years teaching advanced statistics (AP curriculum). I also taught introductory physics during that time. I honed my language skills through five years of high school French capped by a summer living in France, and three years living in Mexico early in my professional music performance career.

Over the years, I have tutored students with a variety of interests, strengths, and needs, with patience and focused attention to help them improve their understanding and performance.
